Lighter, cheaper, and faster. V8, RWD, and Manuel. Lower, wider, and better looking. Yes, the Corvette C7 Z06 is the best attainable Super Car.
edit: Added a retest where the Corvette beats the GT-R NISMO.

Not a GTR fan but I'm calling bullshit until I get a source on that 1.25 lap. What happened that allowed the Vette to gain 2+ seconds from the original lap time with the same driver.

They did a retest:

They just made a statement a few days ago about this, the Vette had the wrong rear camber. Thus they fixed it and ran those times. I am still a proponent of the GT-R's power and handling. IMO the GT-R even in stock form is the better car.

Not surprised.

I'm not being a GT-R apologist.. but the Motortrend article said the Z06 with Randy Pobst behind the wheel did a 1:27.10 around willow springs and can't find any confirmation that he did a 1:25.00 other than the willow springs website itself? typo? retest with different aero?
anyone got a link?
edit: nevermind

apparently they had the rear alignment off on the vette.

I mean, the GTR is ancient, so...congrats?

The Z06 has better power and handling, and costs less and you say the GTR is the better car because of the power and handling? The Z06 costs less and you say the GTR is the better car? The R35's days are coming to an end. They can keep cramming in more power (and raising the price further into Ferrari territory) but the car is reaching it's limits.

They've added 65 HP since 09'. It's not the same car. What was lightyears ahead technologically in 2009 is still lightyears ahead— +65 HP and about $45,000.

Caster was off. Not camber. That would have been so amateur .
The GTR im stock form is cramped and uncomfortable and not meant to be DD'ed. I don't know from personal experience unfortunately, but it sounds like you missed the offshoot of Tavarish's "4- reasons not to buy a GTR right now" that covered why it's a terrible all-around car. Narrow seats, rough suspension, choppy transmission.. There were quite a few.

They're both great cars, but the GTR chassis is almost ten now sooooooo yeah it's not surprising to see the newer Vette perform better, especially when they're just following the leader and trying repeatedly until they win :)

Those were my thoughts as well.

C7 Is still modern Ferrari ugly. Looks like an over styled turd.
Funny thing is, in person, in photos, the GTR isn't a looker, but it still looks better than the C7. Shame they went from pretty much perfect looks with the C6 to whatever kind of acid Chevy designers were on when penning the C7.

Forget the virtual tie at Willow Springs. 8 seconds at VIR?

Congrats, you proved to have the dumbest e-peen war. Your point?

It's not at all stock, but I'm personally curious what the NISMO would be capable of with a set of Carbon Ceramics and the same Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires as the Z06. Higher grip, better braking and lower unsprung weight.

my cousin DD a GT-R and all those reasons didn't exist. Don't know where he got that info from. The GT-R was a Great ride

"Better" means something different for everyone.

Also thank you for the correction, I got those two mixed up.

I think most of those with gripes were of the older, larger variety.. Narrower seat bolsters meant they didn't fit the seats well, and a stiff suspension exacerbated their discomfort. I'd DD the shit out of it even if it had a wooden bench for seats.

It's still an ancient chassis/platform.

That's Nissan's problem, not GM's.

GT-R is way to bloated and big. The C7 looks like a true sports car, low and wide.
